H1N1 flu clinic scheduled for adults

Wednesday, December 2, 2009

GREENCASTLE -- The Putnam County Health Department, in partnership with the Putnam County Hospital, will be conducting an H1N1 flu vaccine clinic for Putnam County resident's age 64 years and under.

The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Community Building at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.

Both the "shot" and "nasal mist" vaccine will be available during this clinic on a walk-in basis.

PCHD assures those over the age of 64 that the H1N1 vaccine will be available to them in the coming weeks. At this time, the H1N1 virus is primarily affecting people under the age of 65, unlike seasonal influenza. The health department continues to urge those 65 and over to get the seasonal flu vaccine.

Questions regarding these clinics and H1N1 response in Putnam County can be referred to the Putnam County Health Department at 653-5210.
