Paul Leroy Allen

Paul Leroy Allen, 71, Tonganoxie, Kan., formerly of Greencastle, died on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born on Jan. 19, 1938 in Putnam County and was the son of the late Paul M. and Mary Alice Cline Allen. He married Shirley A. Burnham on September 17, 1960, and she survives.

Mr. Allen was a retired truck driver for Schwerman at Greencastle and a member of Moose Lodge # 1592 at Greencastle.

He is also survived by his children, Robin Kay Lawson of Tonganoxie, Kan., Kelly Sue Urton and husband Brent of Reelsville, Candice Childress and husband Tommy of Greencastle, Douglas Leroy Allen and wife Sandra of Centerpoint and Timothy Lee Allen and wife Julie of Hillsdale; sister, Evelyn Vera Perkins and husband Marvin of Cory; grandchildren Greg Lawson, Jamie Lawson, Robbie Urton, Emily Urton, Nicole Allen, Kayleigh Allen, Nicholas "Bub" Allen, Cody Allen, Nicki Wilson and Lance Partin; and great-grandchildren, Taylor Lawson, Lauren Lawson, Kelsea Lawson, Nicholas Lawson, Mika Hayes, Mariah Fikes, Shyonna Partin and Emeliana Partin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Murial Fields Allen; sister, Ruth Eaglin; grandchildren, Kyle Allen, Ashley Allen, Kendra Allen; and son-in-law Lenny Lawson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
