Cougars go 1-4 over weekend

ROACHDALE --The North Putnam High School wrestling team went 1-4 Saturday in its own invitational.

The Cougars beat Rockville 37-36 while losing to Owen Valley 34-33, 48-27 to Bishop Chatard, 71-5 to Greenfield Central and 69-6 to Gibson Southern.

Carter Price was the only Cougar to go 4-1 on the day. Two wins came by pin fall while the other two were forfeit wins in the Heavyweight class.

Tyler Ruble went 3-2 on the day, with two pins in the 103-pound weight class while Keegan Foltz went 3-2 in the 152-pound class. He had two pins and one tech fall. Chris McGuff went 3-2 with two pins and decision at 160 pounds. Eric Davis also went 3-2 on the day, winning by pin fall twice and major decision once in the 215-pound weight class.

Cody Oliver was 3-2 on the day, winning in the 179-pound weight class, wining twice by pin fall and once by forfeit.

North Putnam will compete at the Putnam County Tournament tomorrow at Cloverdale beginning at 5:30 p.m.
