Putnam County Sheriff's Department

J.A. Arnold of Harlan was traveling west on US 40 near Greencastle at 6:24 a.m. Sunday when his vehicle struck a deer. It was not towed and there was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Arthur Lowe of Greencastle was traveling on CR 275S at 11 a.m. Sunday, when a "turn came up on him too fast," the accident reported stated. He hit his brakes, causing his vehicle to slide off the road and strike a support wire on a power pole. No injuries were reported and his vehicle was not towed. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Miranda Jones of Greencastle was pulling out of the gas station's parking lot at US 40 and US 231 at 6:18 p.m. Dec. 15, when she attempted to enter the eastbound turn lane. Her vehicle then collided with a vehicle driven by Tricia Costin of Greencastle, who was in the eastbound turn lane on 231N.

Curtis Wrecker Service towed both vehicles from the scene. There was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Jacob France of Coatesville was traveling south on CR 575E near Fillmore at 3:43 p.m. Dec. 17, when he swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle in his lane.

France overcorrected causing his vehicle to turn on its side. He complained of rib pain and his passenger complained of shoulder pain at the scene. Medical treatment was refused at the scene.

France's vehicle was not towed and there was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Angela Ladd of Cloverdale was traveling on Logan Street in Cloverdale at 8 a.m. Dec. 17, when she looked down and struck the back of a vehicle driven by Amber Jolliff of Cloverdale. Neither vehicle was towed and there was an estimated $1,001 to $2,500 in damages.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to 1901 S.R. 240E at 2:03 p.m. Friday, but were disregarded before leaving the station. They were back in service at 2:06 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 846 E. Washington St. at 4:20 p.m. Saturday for a smoke scare. Nothing was found and they were back in service at 4:29 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 705 E. Washington St. at 5:38 p.m. Saturday for a lift assist with Operation Life. They were back in service at 6:03 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 725 E. Washington St. at 10:20 a.m. Sunday for a car fire. They were back in service at 10:50 a.m.
