Chamber annual dinner slated for Jan. 30

GREENCASTLE -- The Greater Greencastle Chamber of Commerce has scheduled its annual dinner for Jan. 30, at the DePauw University Indoor Tennis and Track Facility.

The evening will begin with the social hour from 6 to 7 p.m. with DJ Jim "Figgy" Hardwick providing music. He is sponsored by Duke Energy.

Drinks, appetizers and bidding on silent auction items will also take place during the social hour. Ivy Tech Community College sponsors the silent auction. Couples and groups can also have their professional photos taken by local photographer Amber Bowers of Amber Bowers Photography.

The buffet dinner, which is sponsored by North Salem State Bank, will begin at 7 p.m. The meal is being prepared by DePauw Catering Services.

Following the dinner, the presentation of awards will take place, including the announcement of the 2009 Putnam County Citizen of the Year and the Chamber's Director of the Year award.

The evening will be capped off with an exciting and entertaining Putnam County Variety Showcase. The Chamber is proud to provide their guests with some wonderful Putnam County Talent, in support of their Buy Local campaign. The entertainment for the evening is being sponsored by RHS -- A Republic Service Co.

Tickets for the dinner are $30 per person. Table sponsors are also being sought for the event for $35 per table. All table sponsors will get an on-table acknowledgement, and a special mention in the event program. You do not have to attend the dinner to be a table sponsor.

The Chamber is also still accepting silent auction donations. They ask that the items be valued at $75 or more. Businesses will get special signage and acknowledgement for donating to the silent auction.
