Greencastle Parks announces snow sculpture contest

Monday, January 11, 2010

Artists, get ready to sculpt the snow. The Greencastle Parks and Recreation Department announced a Snow Sculpture Contest during the months of January, February and March.

There are three categories including best snowman, best snow creature and best sculpture (anything beside the first two).

Participants need to create their masterpiece and take a photograph of it. They must also fill out a registration form. Some site visits by park personnel will take place. To have a site visit, call or e-mail tscott@cityofgreencastle.com. These visits will be inside the city limits only.

Information needed for the contest should include the name of the builders (family, business or organization), address, phone number and ages of builders.

Registration forms with pictures can be dropped off or mailed to city hall.

Winners will be announced at the park board meeting March 3 at 7:30 p.m.

For more information about the contest contact Assistant Director Troy Scott at 653-3395.
