Elaine D. Hoffmann

Elaine D. Hoffmann, 68, of Greencastle died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010 at her residence.

Born Sept. 6, 1941 in Warsaw, Ill., she was the daughter of Edward E. and Helen A. Metzger Bicker. She married Peter C. Hoffmann on July 5, 1966 and he survives.

Mrs. Hoffmann received her bachelor's degree from Concordia University in River Forest, Ill. and her master's in education from St. Xavier College in Chicago. She had taught for several years and was currently serving as the director of the Peace Lutheran School, Greencastle.

She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, where she served as music director and organist.

Survivors include her husband; five children, Carl (Pakama) Hoffmann of New Orleans, La., Thomas Hoffmann of Dolton, Ill., Marcy (Hoffmann) Moore of Chicago Heights, Ill. Paul (Susan) Hoffmann of Dyer and George (Michele) Hoffmann of Chicago; three sisters, Norma Waldschmidt, Carol Dyer and Joyce Flachmeier; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Alan Barber officiating.

Friends may call at the church on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
