GHS junior varisty defeats Eagles

GREENCASTLE -- The Greencastle boy's junior varisty basketball team defeated South Putnam 36-13 at South Putnam Monday night.

The Tiger Cubs scored on the opening tip and never trailed.

Leading 14-5 after the first quarter, the Tiger Cubs held the Eagles scoreless the second quarter to take a 20-5 lead at the break. They extended their lead to 34-7 after three.

The fourth quarter saw both teams play their reserves as all players dressed saw action. Joe Lenihan led the way for Greencastle with eight points and Hayden Stuckwisch added seven. The Eagles were led by Seth Hammond with five points and four other players scored two each.

Greencastle (4-2) hosts Edgewood for a 6 p.m. contest saturday in McAnally Center.
