Harley "Mitch" Authement, 60, of Spencer died at his residence on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010.

He was born in Chauvin, La. on Oct. 12, 1949 to Druis and Edris LeBlanc Authement. He was a 1970 graduate of St. Joseph Benedictine High School in Chauvin.

Mr. Authement was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He has worked at International Automotive Components in Greencastle the last six years. Mitch was a member of the American Legion in Cloverdale, UAW Local 2382 in Greencastle, and played in a bowling league through work. He also attended the Church of God of Prophecy. Mitch enjoyed sports, especially football and NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife, Annita Myers Authement; two sons, Andrew Authement and Jonathon Authement, both at home; a brother, Bennett Authement of Chauvin, La.; two sisters, Faye Matherne of Houma, La. and Paula Authement of Chauvin; and several nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Pastor Tammy Lowe will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Calling will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
