Elizabeth Heretta Crawford, 94, of Greencastle died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010 at the Mill Pond Health campus.

Born Aug. 28, 1915 in Cloverdale, she was the daughter of Lewis and Emma McCoy Green. She had attended Cloverdale schools. She married Charles Crawford on Dec. 31, 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1981.

Mrs. Crawford had been a homemaker and worked at the Angwell Curtain Factory for 13 years. She was a member of the Hanna St. Baptist Church, AARP, RSVP and the Putnam County Senior Center.

She is survived by her son, Melvin E. Crawford and wife Barbara of Greencastle; brother Custer Green of Brazil; two grandsons, Scott Crawford and Todd Crawford, both of Greencastle; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Cleo and Marshall Green; and five sisters, Myrtle Ash, Lucy Dunkin, Vera Warren, Sylvia Miller and Goldie Gutheridge.

Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. on Monday at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service.
