Minnie Doreen Kearschner Varvel, 78, of Titusville, Fla. and formerly of Greencastle, died Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Parrish Medical Hospital in Titusville.

Minnie was born May 29, 1931 in Greencastle, daughter of Earnest E. and Emma E. Vanlandingham Kearschner. She had worked for General Telephone in Greencastle for several years and retired from FB Distro in Greencastle.

Minnie is survived by daughters Michelle Lesko and husband Joe of Greencastle and Deneen A. Varvel of Titusville; a son, Norman L. Varvel Jr. of Titusville; three grandchildren, Candace Lawrence and husband Keith of Indianapolis, Brooke Adams and wife Melissa of Greencastle and Amanda Miller and husband Jeremy of Brazil; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Delcia Tincher of Greencastle and Maryland Jellison of Greencastle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norman L. Varvel Sr., a sister, Shirley Pingleton and a brother, Edward Kearschner.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle, with the Rev. Paul Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Thursday at the funeral home.
