Louis Clay Garrett, 84, of Greencastle died Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Hickory Creek at Sunset.

Louis was born in Greencastle to Louis Clay and Jennie Gladys (Scott) Garrett, Sr. Louis was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and retired from IBM after 35 years. He had also farmed and had worked at Allisons. He was an avid outdoorsman and competition trap shooter.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Charles and a sister Alberta.

Louis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha (Perkins) Garrett of Greencastle; Sister-in-law Geneva Garrett of McCordsville, nieces Brenda Summers of Indianapolis, Dianne Harcourt of Zionsville, Barbara Lambacher of Galena, Ohio, Patti Sears of McCordsville and Carolyn Anderson of New Palastine; nephews Tim Perkins of Greencastle, Dan Perkins of Nicholsville, Ky. and Bill Stewart of Cincinatti, Ohio; great- nieces, Ashley and Chelsea Lambacher, Marki Perkins and Summer Roberts, great-nephews, Benjamin, Bryce, Joshua and R. Weston Harcourt, Brandon Lambacher and Rian Perkins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with burial in the Bainbridge Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon until service time at the funeral home.
