Mildred Annette Byers

Mildred Annette Byers, 73, of Bainbridge, died Sunday, April 18, 2010 in Hendricks Regional Health, Danville.

Born July 19, 1936 in Leona, Kan., she was the daughter of Sterling and Crystal Mae Brightwell Lambert. Mildred was an U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Moose Lodge. She married Nicky N. Byers on December 2, 1955 in Norfolk, Va., and he passed away in December 2009.

Ms. Byers worked in the deli department for Danville Kroger before retiring.

Survivors include her sons Nicky Jr., Bruce, Clifford "Jake" and Robert "Robby" Byers; daughter Crystal Strotman and husband Mike; sisters Connie Riley and Vicky McFeeters, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A son, James "Jim" Byers, two brothers and one sister preceded in death.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Baker Funeral Home, Danville. Private burial will be held.
