Maryellen Chatham

Maryellen Chatham, 66, of Brownsburg, formerly of Brazil, passed away Monday, April 19, 2010 at home, following an extended illness.

She was born Feb. 17, 1944 in Clay County to Harry and Mary Howald.

She was married on July 25, 1965 to Larry Chatham, with whom she shared her life for 42 years.

She was active in her church and loved showing hospitality to neighbors and friends.

Maryellen was preceded in death by her parents; husband Larry; grandmother Gladys Cox; and great-aunt Leatha Bell, whom she had taken into her home and lovingly cared for.

She is survived by two sons Michael Aaron Chatham and wife Tammie and Aaron James "AJ" Chatham; one grandson Logan Chatham, all of Brownsburg; two close aunts Betty Gallez and husband David and Annabelle Sneddon and several other extended family members and many close friends and neighbors.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. May 1 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Danville with pastor Leroy Pickering officiating.
