Cloverdale splits with Speedway

CLOVERDALE -- The Cloverdale softball squad collected its second win of the season by defeating Speedway 12-4 in the first game of a double header Tuesday.
Paige Gutierrez slammed a 2-run home run in the first inning, while Breegan Anderson connected on a solo blast in the seventh inning.
Kat Raisor got the win, striking out three, while allowing seven hits.
The Clovers fell in the second game 13-8. Tika Byrd recorded two doubles and four RBIs, with Bradanne Toney adding a triple.
In both games, Byrd led the team with six RBIs, with Toney and Kara Knapp adding three RBIs. Gutierrez and Shanna Schmutte chipped in one RBI each.
