Tigers punch ticket to championship

GREENCASTLE -- With a 5-4 victory over top-seeded Ohio Northern, DePauw defended its Sunday loss to the Polar Bears and advanced to the NCAA Division III Softball Championship in Eau Claire, Wis.

Cymone Allen scored the go-ahead run on a Brianne Weeks double in the bottom of the sixth, making the score 5-4.

Senior pitcher Megan Soultz and the Tiger defense then held Ohio Northern scoreless in the top of the seventh to close out the game.

  • congrats to Depauw on winning! they should have taken it yesterday but had one horrible inning. wish i would have seen the game today. simple game advice "smart throws, win ballgames".
