Creatures of the Not-So-Deep coming to McCloud Park

Wednesday, June 2, 2010

Are you wondering what types of creatures inhabit our Indiana wetlands and waterways?

To find out, join us at McCloud Nature Park June 19 for an exciting day of aquatic study at our frog pond.

Water shoes, rubber boots, or waders are encouraged. Study and observation stations will be set-up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Saunter to McCloud on Sunday June 20 at 2 p.m. for our weekly "Sunday Stroll."

Every week, a naturalist will lead a group through the park's trails in search of seasonal attractions and wildlife sightings.

Park admission and all activities are free and open to the community. McCloud Nature Park is operated by Hendricks County Parks and Recreation and located five minutes south of North Salem at 8518 North Hughes Road.

The park is open from dawn to dusk daily and the Nature Center is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

For more information on McCloud Nature Park and park programs call McCloud at 676-5437 or visit the Web site at www.hendrickscountyparks.org.
