Putnam County Jail

John Douglas, 24, Bloomington, was booked into the Putnam County Jail at 10:53 p.m. Wednesday for violation of probation.

Waylon Higgins, 25, Cloverdale, was booked at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Troy A. Phillips, 27, Indianapolis, was booked at 4:56 p.m. Wednesday for failure to appear.

Vicki L. Sellers, 38, Cloverdale, was booked at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday for a warrant out of Johnson County.

Justin Thompson, 29, Terre Haute, was booked at 11:44 p.m. Wednesday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and public intoxication.

Putnam County Sheriff's Department

Anthony P. Helton of Quincy was traveling on US 36 at 10:09 a.m. Wednesday and was turning onto US 231 when his trailer struck the side of a parked sheriff's vehicle working an accident.

There was an estimated $2,501 to $5,000 in damages.

Stephen K. Link of Bainbridge was traveling east on US 36 at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, when his vehicle struck a school bus operated by Zachary T. Stevens of Bloomington. Link stopped at the intersection for the red light, but continued into traffic striking the school bus traveling south on 231.

Bainbridge fire, Roachdale fire chief and emergency medical technicians checked students on the bus for injuries. Greencastle School Corporation personnel transported the students and Stevens. Paddick's Wrecker Service towed the bus from the scene.

Alfred Steenhuizen of Sandusky, Mich. was traveling eastbound in the right lane on Interstate 70 when a vehicle operated by Dana S. Laycock of Terre Haute sideswiped his vehicle.

Steenhuizen's vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail before catching fire in its engine compartment. The accident report stated Putnam County 911 received reports prior to the crash Laycock was driving erratically.

Curtis Wrecker Service towed Laycock's vehicle. Steele's Wrecker Service towed Steenhuizen's vehicle.

Greencastle Fire Department

Crews were dispatched to 350 Fawnview Lane at 9:28 p.m. Wednesday for a carbon monoxide investigation. They were back in service at 9:50 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 506 E. Hanna St. at 10:34 p.m. Wednesday for an odor investigation. They were back in service at 10:44 p.m.

Crews were dispatched to 575 W CR 150N at 12:12 p.m. Thursday for a motor vehicle accident. They were back in service at 12:48 p.m.
