Helen Rose Bouslog, 87, of Chrisman, Ill. passed away on Monday, June 21, 2010 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was a homemaker and also worked for several years as a secretary at the former U.O. Colson Company of Paris.

She was born July 14, 1922 in Clinton, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lilly Criss Sanders. She married H. Dane Bouslog on Aug. 16, 1942 in Clinton. He preceded her in death Jan. 27, 1993.

Mrs. Bouslog attended Indiana Business College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Paris, where she was active in several circles and had also assisted in the church office. She was also a member of the Edgar County Home Extension. She loved crocheting and flower gardening.

As a young bride, she traveled alone by train to visit her husband in the military hospital in Denver, Colo. She will be remembered as an excellent cook and a proud and caring grandmother.

Survivors include three sons, Lawrence Charles (Donna) Bouslog of Greencastle, Thomas Dane (Jean) Bouslog of Wheeling, Ill. and Ronald Kent (Cindy) Bouslog of Paris, Ill.; a daughter, Mary Beth (Joseph Jr.) Yuza of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Patty Jean Sanders of Clinton; nine grandchildren, Todd Bouslog, Timothy (Laura) Bouslog, Joseph (Kara) Yuza III, Steven Yuza, Michael (Jenifer) Yuza, Mark Bouslog, Cara Bouslog, Andrea (David) Bouslog-Gross and Tyler Bouslog; and six great-grandchildren, Tristan and Trenton Gross, Taylor and Vanessa Bouslog and Derek and Hayden Yuza.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Sanders.

Services celebrating her life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery north of Paris. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
