Daniel B. Setlak
Mr. Daniel Bruno Setlak, 65, of Greencastle, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville.
Born February 18, 1945 in Gary, he was the son of Bruno & Sophia Wilczyski Setlak. He was a 1963 graduate of Lew Wallace High School. He married Dorothy "Dottie" Burdelow on May 26, 2001, and she survives.
Daniel had been a sergeant with the Putnamville Correctional Facility for over 15 years and previously worked over 20 years at the Gary Steel Mill in Gary.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the United States Air Force; a member of the V.F.W.; American Legion; Moose Lodge; and the American Wildlife Federation.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert (Galena) Setlak of Mitchell; stepson, William (Christy) Norris of Spencer; two sisters, Dolores (Porter) Evans of Crown Point and Jean (Joseph) Ballarino of Gilbert, Ariz.; a brother, Richard (Tammy) Setlak of St. John; three grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Father Stephen Jarrell officiating. Military rites will follow.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Monday until time of service.
