Interesting Art

This unique structure sits on East College lawn at DePauw University. It was built in 2007 by sculptor Patrick Dougherty with the help of DePauw students, faculty and staff, as well as members of the community. The site-specific environmental sculpture is named Simple Logic and isn't a typical treehouse. These intentionally misshapen huts -- complete with oblique doorways and window holes -- look like something a kid might imagine or read about in a Grimm's fairy tale. Over the past two decades, Dougherty has created more than 150 sculptures throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.

  • I love those things. A friend of mine wanted to stop and check them out on one of our bike rides, so we wandered through them and took some pictures. They're a very "fun" thing to have on campus.
