GREENCASTLE -- A Plainfield woman was transported to the Putnam County Hospital Monday morning after being involved in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 240.

Greencastle Police Department Officer Ed Wilson said Amanda Freriks, 21, was driving eastbound on U.S. 240 just before noon when her vehicle was struck by a car driven by Russell Keck III, 27, of Roachdale. Keck was driving southbound on Warren Avenue when he pulled out and struck Freriks' car on the driver's side.

Keck's car spun and ended up on the north side of Warren Drive, while Freriks' vehicle was propelled forward and came to rest on the east side of U.S. 240. The cars ended up 50 to 75 feet apart, Greencastle Police Department Chief Brian Hopkins estimated.

One of the cars involved in a two-vehicle accident Monday at the intersection of U.S. 240 and Warren Drive was driven by Russell Keck III of Roachdale.

Freriks complained of pain in her left arm. She was transported from the accident scene via Operation Life ambulance to the Putnam County Hospital. Wilson said he believed Freriks' injuries to be minor.

Keck sustained minor injuries such as scrapes and contusions, Wilson said, but he declined medical treatment.
