GREENCASTLE -- Any local music fans looking for an "Average" music experience can look forward to Aug. 20 and 21 at The Inn at DePauw.

Average House Band, staples of the local music scene in the 1970s and 1980s, is planning its fourth annual reunion, dubbed the Long Road Home Tour.

As the reunion grows each year, it's becoming as much about people reconnecting as it is about music.

"The crowd is already bigger than last year," guitarist and vocalist Steve Michael said. "It's fun, it's fairly inexpensive, and it's a great way to reconnect with a lot of people. We're getting a lot of people this year who have called who have not been back before."

The lineup will include Sandy Williams on guitar, Danny Martin lead vocals and guitar, Bill Hamm on bass, Michael on guitar and Rod Kersey, Fred Badalli and Mike Poor on drums. With three sets slated for each night, each drummer takes one.

This is Poor's first time joining the band for the reunion shows.

"Mike played with us -- it's been so long ago I can't remember the exact years -- but Mike was in the last configuration of the House Band," Michael said.

While the response has already been outstanding, Michael said plenty of room is still available. The event will occupy the banquet room, galleria and patio at The Inn.

The Danny Martin "Touch of Mink" VIP Package is still available for Friday night's show, featuring a reserved table for 10 for $100. While there is a waiting list for Saturday night tables, plenty of $5 general admission tickets are available for both nights.

Doors open at 8 p.m., with the shows slated for 9 p.m.

"It's a big weekend at DePauw, so come early and stay late."

All who purchase the VIP package will also be entered in a drawing for what Michael has described as "a very horrible, old mink coat."

Michael also expressed his gratitude to Chief's South by Southwest for co-sponsoring the event and the new management at The Inn at DePauw.

"The new management at The Inn at DePauw has been extremely accommodating and a pleasure to work with."

The Inn has also put together an appetizer menu especially for the nights of the show.
