Swearingen - 50th

Donald Lee Swearingen and Karen Annette Baughn were married on Aug. 21, 1960.

The ceremony was held in Terre Haute at the Church of Christ, which was located at 5th and McKeen.

Don and Karen are the parents of Gregg Swearingen, Centerville, Ohio (Jennifer Fogle, spouse) and Jill (Swearingen) Martz, Decatur (Brad Martz, spouse).

They also have 5 grandchildren, Caleb Martz, Dylan Swearingen, Evan Swearingen, Connor Martz and Victoria Swearingen.

Don was employed at IBM in Greencastle for 30 years and at Clover Meadows Golf Course for 15 years.

Karen's employment included positions at the Cloverdale Elementary School (18 years) and Cloverdale Church of Christ (eight years).

Don has served as an elder for the Cloverdale and Clay City Churches of Christ.

Don and Karen are both currently employed part-time by French Funeral Homes and reside in Clay City.

The Swearingens recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with a weeklong vacation to Gatlinburg, Tenn. with their children and their families.
