Roachdale approves repair project funding

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

ROACHDALE -- The Roachdale Town Council unanimously approved funding for a new roof and gutter board for the town park restroom at its monthly meeting last week.

The project will cost the town $1,950, and Parker Construction will start on the project as soon as time is permitted in the contractor's schedule, Roachdale clerk-treasurer Martha Louk said.

The council, comprised of Louk, President William Long and members Jackie Jones and Barbara Scott, also unanimously approved spending $500 to replace windows on the town's water plant.

"The windows had been broken there for some time," Louk said.

Work on the project will also be done by Parker Construction and should start when contractors have time to complete it, Louk said.

The next meeting of the Roachdale Town Council will be 6 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 14 in the conference room of the town's office.

  • It would be nice if they would do something about the people who fly up and down the streets of Roachdale.

  • bigpapa I smell cop. Maybe the street justme44 lives on has no sidewalk. There are many in the town of Roachdale that do not. Your post smell of cop and with a name like bigpapa sounds like you have a ego to feed

  • I agree that Roachdale does not have many sidewalks for our kids to walk on but I also agree that you can not have a cop on every corner. As in all towns you will have those that like to speed and they will get caught some day! Oh, and by the way I did just see one of the cops sitting watching traffic several days last week and even saw him with one pulled over, so they are out working just not always where you would like for them to be.

  • Just sit on Hwy 236 or Indiana St. that would suffice.
