Gail Griffin, 59, of Hillsdale died on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born March 14, 1951 in Louisiana, Mo. to Gene Forester and Helen Gregory Forester.

She married John Griffin on April 23, 1976 in Breckenridge, Texas. She was a homemaker and was retired from Sony. She was a member of the Independent Baptist Church in Montezuma.

She is survived by her parents Gene and Helen Forester of Cuba, Mo.; her husband John Griffin of Hillsdale; three daughters, Dr. Paula Market and her husband Brian of Hillsdale, Danielle Speedy of Cloverdale and her friend Ken of Indianapolis and Denise (Bug) Griffin of Terre Haute; four brothers, William Swarnes of Missouri, Loren Swarnes of Arizona, Fred Lee of Missouri and Harold Dale (Deter) of Missouri. Also surviving are grandchildren Kevin Market, Abbigail and RJ Speedy Avery, Hanah and Morgan Sparenberg.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Cindy DaPron, and one grandchild, Jacob Thomas Speedy.

Cremation has been chosen. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Independent Baptist Church in Montezuma with memorial services at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Keith McIntyre officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer fund.
