Louise Morrison

Louise M. Morrison, 81, of Mooresville passed away Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, of multiple myeloma.

She was born on Dec.14, 1928, in Lewisport, Ky. to the late Vernie and Martha Morford.

She married Clay W. Morrison, and they celebrated 64 years of marriage on June 27, 2010.

They had one child, Sharon Hicks (Ken). She and her husband Ken gave them two grandchildren, Kathi Asbell and Todd Hicks.

Also surviving are seven great grandchildren, Alex Asbell, Andrew Hicks, Margaret Hicks, Donovan Asbell, Mary Katherine Asbell, Sarah Hicks, and Elizabeth Quinn Yu Asbell.

Louise was a mentor to many at-risk women in the community, providing them with a nurturing home while teaching them independence. She was a "surrogate" mother and grandmother to Mooresville High School cheerleaders and football players from the class of 1965 and also to the tennis, football, and cheerleaders of 1984 and 1987.

Her most endearing quality was that she made people feel special; feel valued. She was an amazingly beautiful person inside and out. She was trusted, adored, admired, and loved by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was also an avid golfer. She played on the Eagle Pines "Lady Bugs" Golf League for eight years.

She was a member of the Winding Rivers Lady Golf League for five years, and she and her husband participated in the Senior Couples League of Hendricks County. She and her friends, Wanda Rawnsley, Betty Donovan, and Pat Robinson golfed the state of Indiana, occasionally drifting into Illinois and Ohio. They admired her putting ability, and Louise was proud to boast of her best score; 77 for 18 holes, not to mention a hole in one at the age of 64.

Services were held Friday atthe Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville Burial was in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
