Shannon Eugene Hassler

Shannon Eugene Hassler, 69, of Lebanon, died Friday, Sept. 17 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.

Shannon was born Sept. 15, 1941 in Brazil to the late Forest E. and Catherine L. (O'Neal) Hassler.

He graduated from Reelsville High School in 1959 and joined the United States Army in 1961, proudly serving in Korea as a part of the 7th Division. Shannon moved to Lebanon in 1965 and went to work for Shumate Business Forms in Lebanon for 38 years until his retirement in 2003.

His memberships included the Lebanon Airo-Nuts R.C. Club and the Lebanon Christian Church. His hobbies included traveling, woodworking and model airplanes.

Shannon married Roberta Elaine (Huffman) Hassler on August 13, 1965; she survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Stephanie (Daniel) Kehoe of Camby; grandchildren, Patrick Patterson, Rachelle Patterson, Brett Michael Patterson, Dustin and Nicholas Kehoe all of Camby; and sisters, Wanda Friday of Indianapolis and Judy Bradley of Indianapolis.

Family and friends gathered from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19 from in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon with the Rev. Harry Pitts officiating service at 1 p.m. today.
