Hogeye Navvy to perform

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

On Oct. 31 from 2-4 p.m., popular Indianapolis Celtic band Hogeye Navvy will close the Lakeside House Concerts Series for the 2010 season at Heritage Lake.

Hogeye Navvy is an acoustic, chantey-singing band whose repertoire expands to include the traditional music of Ireland, Scotland, England, and North America. The band has performed at everything from wedding receptions to pubs to a pre-show for a boxing match to Tall Ship and other festivals, to tours in Ireland and Scotland.

Along the way they've developed a strong following of "Hog Heads," who love to join in the singing of the chanteys, drinking songs and ballads.

At the Heritage Lake house concert, they will include a lot of ghostly, ghastly songs, in celebration of Samhain, the Celtic ancestor of Halloween.

This is an all-ages concert. Tickets for children under 12 are $5; tickets for those over 12 are $10.

Space is limited and reservations are suggested. Call Kate Robertson at 386-2259 or e-mail katerobbie@sbcglobal.net for reservations and directions.
