Tuesday, October 12, 2010
South Putnam Junior High School eighth grader Lane Franklin seeks advice about purchasing furniture from Ruth Myers, a member of the Delta Theta Tau philanthropic sorority at the Reality Store event Monday afternoon at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. Students toured different booths and sought advice from area volunteers about community involvement, entertainment expenses and choosing career paths. The purpose of the event was to teach students about life skills, how to balance a budget and the importance of having a college education, South Putnam counselor Mark Wildman said.
