Public hearing planned for Thursday

The Cloverdale board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cloverdale Town Hall. The purpose of this hearing is for any appeals presented from the notified public concerning the board's decision

Bad films topic of Saturday's workshop

The Putnam County Public Library and Low Road Gallery will present "Take Two: Workshop on Bad Films (and why we love them enough to do a remake)." The workshop will run from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Acting, directing or set making experience is not required. All equipment is provided.

Pork chops on menu for Saturday dinner

Whitesville Christian Church will host a pork chop dinner on Saturday.

Serving will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Cost for adult meals is $10 and includes a boneless pork chop, choice of three sides (baked potato, green beans, potato salad, cole slaw or applesauce), roll and butter, dessert and drink (lemonade, iced tea or coffee). A children's meal is $4 and includes a hot dog, choice of two sides, roll and butter, dessert and drink.

Tickets will be available the day of the event or can be purchased by calling 362-3896.

Whitesville Christian Church is located at 3603 S. Ladoga Road, Crawfordsville.

Fall Festival features bounce house

Lifebuilder Community Church is holding its Fall Festival from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at its location at 637 E. Washington St. The event is free and open to the community and features a bounce house, games with prizes, face painting and food including hot dogs, cotton candy and popcorn.

Relay Community Day is Oct. 26

Relay for Life will have its Community Day Kick Off where it will be announcing the theme for this year's Relay at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 in the Union Building Ballroom.

Dog walking event set for Oct. 30

Relay for Life will host a Bark For Life event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 30 at Bowman Park at DePauw University on Jackson Street.

The cost is $10 to walk a dog and the fee can be credited straight to the participants' Relay For Life team. The Humane Society will be there for people to rent a dog to walk for an hour.

There will be music, games, dog goody bags for every dog, face painting and a costume contest for all of the dogs.
