Donald Allen Borer

Donald Allen Borer, 68, of Shamokin, Pa. passed away Nov. 7, 2010. He was born Nov. 8, 1941 in Tiffin, Ohio to Raymond Borer and Suzanna (Binder) Borer.

He served in the United States Army for 26 years, 10 months and 20 days and was discharged as a master sergeant. He served a total of eight years, 10 months and 26 days overseas, including serving in the Vietnam War. During his service, he received the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Mae; children Mark Borer, Donna Borer, Danielle Fuchs and Lelani Allwine; grandchildren Angelica Mae Kennedy, Kira Fuchs, Logan Fuchs and Xander Fuchs; brother Richard Lee Borer and his wife Thelma (Marie) Borer of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his brother Art Raymond Borer.

There will be no viewing or hours of calling. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service and burial with full military honors Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetary in Annville, Pa.
