North Putnam swimmers battle South Vermillion, Edgewood

The North Putnam coed swim teams battled South Vermillion and Edgewood Saturday. The boys lost a close contest to Edgewood 123-101, with South Vermillion coming in third with 94 points. The girls placed third with 12 points, with South Vermillion winning with 142 points and Edgewood second with 136.

For the boys, Jeremy Ban won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 23.85 and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.98. Jared James captured the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:10.55 and Joseph Lehr won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:12.49.

The 200-yard medley relay team of Ban, Lehr, James and Dane Gray won in 1:56.53 and the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:42.88.

Michelle Harper led the girls with a second place finish in the 200-yard IM (2:50.16) and the 100-yard freestyle (1:04.89).
