Barbara Ann Buckelew, 70, of Sun Lakes, Ariz., passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Jan. 15, 2011. She was born in Springhill, La. on Nov. 23, 1940.

She was a school teacher and proudly taught school in four states: Louisiana, Virginia, Indiana and Kansas. She was a talented artist and doll maker who was blessed with an abundance of creative skills.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Carlos Buckelew of Sun Lakes; daughters Sue Blake and her husband Mark of Greencastle and Lisa Summers and her husband Sean of Chandler, Ariz., six grandchildren and a sister, Tam Bryan and her husband Marty of Pineville, La.

Due to the weather conditions, the memorial service for Barbara Buckelew that was scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 has been postponed. A service to celebrate her life will be rescheduled and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research at 25842 S New Town Drive, Sun Lakes, AZ, 85248.
