Anthony "Dingo" Dilcher
Anthony "Dingo" Dilcher, 19, of Cloverdale passed away at his residence on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011.
He was born in Indianapolis on Aug. 23, 1991 into the home of Louis W. Dilcher and Karen Kerzan-Dilcher. Anthony graduated from Cloverdale High School in 2010 where he was a member of the football team in his freshman, sophomore and junior year. He worked at McDonalds in Cloverdale.
His love of music led him to play many different instruments and become a member of the band, Naked N' November. One of the highlights of being a member of the band was that he was able to perform during the senior prom. He helped to spread the word of the Lord serving as a youth minister at the Lighthouse Tabernacle in Gosport. When he was younger, Anthony also attended Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Indianapolis.
He was a big guy with a big heart and a soft voice. He enjoyed the simpler things in life and never spoke an unkind word about anyone, saying nothing but good. He was always there to assist others in need. Anthony attended Camp Beacon where eventually he volunteered as a camp counselor. Anthony will be missed by his family, friends and the community.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Dilcher, Sr.; great-grandmother, Jaynelle Dilcher, and great-grandfather, Paul V. Kerzan.
Anthony is survived by his mother, Karen Kerzan-Dilcher and her fiancé, Bryan of Cloverdale; father, Louis W. Dilcher and his companion, Theresa Higgenbotham of Bowling Green; sister, Savanna Dilcher; step-sisters, Harleigh and Baileah Hayden; grandparents, Stephen Kerzan (Cheryl) of Mt. Vernon, Ava Branam (Richard "Joe") of Cloverdale and Ellen Dilcher of Indianapolis; great-grandparents, Sue Kerzan of Vincennes and Fred Essary (Sue) of Mt. Vernon; girlfriend, Trisha Kay-Cummings of Cloverdale; aunts and uncles, Ryan Joseph Kerzan (Janie) of Columbia, S.C., Anthony Stephen Kerzan (Auleen) of Clayton, Melisa Branam-Figg of Cloverdale, Brian Branam of Waverly, George Dilcher, Jr of Indianapolis, John Dilcher (Dawn) of Bradenton, Fla., Kimberly Perkins (Rob) of Indianapolis, Daniel "Hammy" Inlow of Cloverdale, Steven Inlow of Colo., and Cayce and Courtny Gibbs of Indianapolis; cousins, Ella Rain-Kerzan, Madison Figg, Parker Stevens, Robbie, Jason, and Brandy Perkins, Devon Denny, Aidyn Gibbs, Brynnon Clayton and Jahvon and Meah Gibbs; and several extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Lighthouse Tabernacle in Gosport on Friday at 2 p.m. with Brother J.D. Temples II officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of services. Burial is to be private at Cloverdale Cemetery. Friends are invited to a luncheon following the services at Soul's Harbor Church in Cloverdale. Chandler Funeral Home-Whitaker Chapel in Gosport is assisting with arrangements.
