Robert P. Hansen passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011. He was born on April 14, 1937 in Tuscola, Ill. to Harry Hansen and Lurene Hood Hansen.

He moved to Indiana at age 12 and graduated from Bainbridge High School in 1955. Mr. Hansen retired from Allison Transmission on Jan. 1, 1989.

He was a 32-year member of the Temple Masonic Lodge No. 47, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, Murat Temple in Indianapolis, and O.E.S. Chapter No. 255. He served multiple times as Worshipful Master and Worthy Patron.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra (Fellows) Hansen, whom he married on Jan. 8, 1965; two children, Leigh Hinnefeld and husband Jon of Conyers, Ga. and Larry Hansen of Amo; five grandchildren, J.D. and Stacey Hinnefeld of Conyers, Ga. and Stuart, Lauren and Drew Hansen of Amo; two brothers-in-law, David Fellows and wife Brenda, Devin Fellows and wife Sharon, both of Reelsville; aunts Loretta Wall and husband Herbert of Reelsville and aunt Mae Sanders of Fillmore; nieces Michelle Fellows of Amo and Felicia (Fellows) Tindall and husband Jon of Noblesville; cousins Betty Jane Hale and husband Jerry of Arthur, Ill., Harry Foster and wife Marilyn of Tuscola, Ill. and Bonnie Fay of Watseka, Ill.; and extended family cousins in California, Virginia, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Texas, Illinois and Indiana.

During his retirement years, he volunteered his time and energy to many charitable causes, including Alzheimer's research.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until time of services.
