Shoes without soul

Wednesday, March 30, 2011
Emily Smedra, member of Kappa Delta Pi, sits with her computer in front of the shoe drop-off for the Soles4Souls program at the DePauw Memorial Union Building lunchroom. The program takes donated shoes and gives them to children and adults that need them in different countries. They are specifically targeting Japanese children going through the wreckage left in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami several weeks ago, though they are accepting shoes old or new of all sizes. The fundraiser will continue throughout the week in two one-hour periods each day, with one period from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the second from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • Where is the drop-off located and do you also want adult shoes? Also,do they have to be new?

  • Kappa Delta Pi is the education honor society at DePauw. Adult shoes are accepted - both new and used shoes are greatly welcome! Members of KDP are at the HUB until Friday at a table by the stairs from 11:30 -12:30 and 5:30-6:30. Additionally, a box can be found outside of Julian 280 between the hours of 8:30 and 4:30. Thanks for your interest!
