Genealogy Workshop at PCPL April 30

Saturday, April 9, 2011

The Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution welcomes the public to attend a Genealogy Workshop from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at the Putnam County Library, 103 E. Poplar St., Greencastle.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a volunteer service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism.

Any woman is eligible for membership who is 18 years of age or older, regardless of race or religion or ethnic background and who can prove direct lineal bloodline descent from a man or woman who, with unfailing loyalty to the cause of American independence, served as a patriot in the colonies or states during the American Revolution.

If you do not know if you have such a patriot in your family tree, the workshop will assist in researching for an ancestor. If your grandparents or great-grandparents were born in this country, chances are likely that you can find a Revolutionary War patriot.

Reservations are not required. For more information, persons may contact JoAn Nichols at joanichols@juno.com.
