ELLETTSVILLE -- The Greencastle boys' golf team narrowly missed out on winning the Edgewood Invitational Saturday. The Tiger Cubs ended the day just three shots back of Invite-winning Brownstown Central, 316-319 to place second in a field of nine teams.

Brad Haussin led the way for GHS with a 76 and was followed closely by teammate Alec Davis with a 77. Ray Stinson carded an 80, while Jimmy Wheeler shot an 86 and Tanner Dean with a 92.

Greencastle head coach Steve Paquin said the team gave a good effort in spite of the inclement conditions and played a very solid tournament throughout. He also acknowledged that with the conditions, it was a tough day to play golf.

Greencastle hits the course Tuesday when it travels to Speedway to play the Sparkplugs and Lapel at 4:45 p.m.
