Eagles get win on the road

MARTINSVILLE -- The South Putnam baseball team defeated Martinsville 3-1 on the road Friday for its third win of the season.

Aaron Parker cranked out two doubles and scored once, while Rob Gibson and Seth Hammond also scored.

Martinsville opened the game with one run in the bottom of the first, but South Putnam stepped up and held them scoreless for the remainder of the game. On the flip side, the Eagles were able to post two runs in the top of the third and added its final run in the top of six to secure the win.

South Putnam will travel to Monrovia tonight at 5 p.m.
