Prenatal classes at Putnam County Hospital set for May 2

Putnam County Hospital offers prenatal classes to all expectant mothers. The next session of prenatal classes at is slated for May 2 at 6 p.m.

The class is free for mothers who plan to deliver at the hospital and $25 for those delivering at another facility.

It is a one-evening, three-hour session that meets in the hospital classrooms on the third floor.

The group will discuss topics such as childbirth, labor support, the discomforts of pregnancy, postpartum care, feeding and caring for a newborn and breastfeeding. The class will utilize the book "The Gift of Motherhood."

Expectant mothers and fathers wishing to participate can register by calling 655-2577.

The classes are held quarterly and the next available session will be on August 1.
