Davis leads GHS to victory on the course

The Greencastle boys' golf team had five golfers post sub-40 rounds as they made quick work of Southmont, 145-189.

Alec Davis led the way with a 35 for GHS. He was followed by Brad Haussin and Jim Wheeler with 36, Luke Brotherton 38 and Ray Stinson a 39. Derik Thomas added a 41, while Tyler Hopkins shot a 43, Tanner Dean a 45 and Joe Kaiser a 48. Wataru Otaki carded a 49 and Jonathan Newgent shot a 52.

"Excellent play by everyone," GHS head coach Steve Paquin said. "Scores were very consistent. Our top five played well in the cool, windy weather. Alec Davis had a solid round of 35 backed up by Brad (Haussin) and Jim (Wheeler) with 36's and Luke Brotherton with a three over 38."

Greencastle will compete at the Brave Invitational in Terre Haute today at 9 a.m.
