Putnamville Baptist welcomes new pastor

PUTNAMVILLE -- Brother Rick Brown will assume his duties as pastor of Putnamville Baptist Church, 637 East U.S. 40, beginning Saturday, May 21, according to Interim Pastor Greg Hutcheson.

The Brown family will be welcomed at a church chili supper on Saturday at 5 p.m. with an induction service to follow at 6:30 p.m. A guest speaker will join the congregation for this service celebrating Brown's pastorship. A cake and punch reception will follow.

Brown will be preaching at Putnamville Baptist on Sunday, May 22, and visitors are always welcome. The morning worship service begins at 10:30 a.m.

He comes to Putnamville Baptist from Life Line Baptist Church in Camby, where he has been assistant pastor. Prior to that, he started Calvary Baptist in Scottsdale in 2003.

Brown and his wife Kristi are parents of two daughters, Faith, age 7, and Elizabeth, age 9. The Browns will locate in the Greencastle area.

Currently working toward a Doctorate of Theology degree at Baptist College and Theological Seminar in Piedmont, Mo., Brown holds degrees from Indiana Baptist College in Dupont and Shawnee Baptist College in Louisville.
