I-70 lane restrictions begin Monday west of State Road 243

PUTNAMVILLE -- The eastbound passing lane of Interstate 70 will be closed in western Putnam County, 6.5 miles west of State Road 243 Monday, May 16.

Crews will be painting the Raab Road Bridge. The eastbound passing lane will be closed for two days. The crews will then close the driving lane for approximately two days before they then switch the operation to the westbound lanes.

Crews with Venus Painting Co. will be painting eight bridges on I-70 between Raab Road in Putnam County and County Road 1000 East in Hendricks County.

Venus Painting Co. was awarded the bridge painting contract for $780,083. The contract includes painting eight bridges at various locations on I-70. This project is scheduled for completion Oct. 15.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone.
