Clovers sweep Tiger Cubs

CLOVERDALE -- The Clovers softball team swept Greencastle to begin its week. On Monday, the Clovers won 6-5 and on Tuesday they won 4-2.

In Monday's game, Cloverdale entered the seventh inning trailing 5-4 at its last at bat. Paige Gutierrez walked and then Kara Knapp hit a walk-off home run to win the game for the Clovers 6-5.

Sam Smith had an RBI, with Gutirerrez adding an RBI and Knapp had a home run, a double and 4 RBIs.

Knapp again proved to be a thorn in the Tiger Cubs side Tuesday. She hit a two-run home run to tie the game 2-all in the fifth inning. In the seventh, Gutierrez hit a single and was scored by Heather Goss. Knapp was plated by Adri Patterson to give the Clovers its winning margin.

Smith, Guitierrez, Goss and Patterson all had a single, with Knapp adding a home run.
