Greencastle eighth-graders thank community

Thursday, May 26, 2011

To The Editor,

Greencastle Middle School eighth-grade students attended a Farewell Party on Saturday evening. The party was held at GMS and was planned and organized by parents. The theme for the party was "The Sweetest Goodbye." Students enjoyed inflatable games, music with a DJ, candy from the Sweet Shoppe, a Corn Hole and Ping Pong tournament and an abundance of great food. Each student received a gift bag with goodies including a DVD slide show of their classmates.

In order to make this evening the success that it was, many volunteers and businesses deserve a big "thank you." The following business donated supplies and door prizes:

Burger King, Collins Evans Real Estate, Buzzi Unicem, Dairy Castle, Holiday World, Family Video, Wal-Mart, Humble Pie, Joe Spiker Promotions/Lincoln Park Speedway and Joe Spiker Excavating, Cash Concrete Products, Putnam Plastic, Indianapolis Indians, Indianapolis Ice, Cincinnati Reds, Melting Pot, Dixie Chopper, Praxair, Robert Briones, Endeavor Communications, Sunset Ink, Kroger, DePauw Art Department and Headley Hardware.

Also, thanks to all those parents who donated time and resources. The students truly enjoyed the evening that you helped make possible.

Sincerely,

Eighth-Grade Farewell Committee
