Sheriff's Department

* May 13, 10 p.m.: Tabbeth J. Sells, 19, Indianapolis, was northbound on CR 675E in a 2009 GMC Envoy when she came upon two horses with riders in the middle of the road, also northbound.

Sells aid it was dark and she did not see the horses until it was too late, striking a horse ridden by Mark Fugate. The horse was gone from the scene when the officer arrived.

Damage $1,001-$2,500.

* May 23, 9:25 a.m.: Kenneth J. Knechtel, 61, Kiawah Island, S.C., was southbound on U.S. 231 approaching U.S. 40 in a 2011 Ford Fusion. He was following a semi tractor-trailer and was slowing down because he could not see the traffic signal.

Eric S. Van Wye, 40, Indianapolis, was following Knechtel in a 2006 GMC 3500 and did not see the first driver slowing down and struck him in the rear.

Damage $2,501-$5,000.

* May 24, 11:24 a.m.: Heather E. Keil, 38, Greencastle, was parked at 3583 South CR 200W in a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado. She did not see the 2008 Honda owned by Vanessa Botwell, Cloverdale, parked behind her and backed into the car.

Damage $2,501-$5,000.

* May 24, 3:28 p.m.: Timothy A. Mark, 53, Poland, was southbound on CR 450W in a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier. Brett A. Warren, 18, Greencastle, was backing out of a driveway in a 1991 Jeep Wrangler and hit the passenger side of Mink's car.

Warren said bushes located north of the driveway affect his vision sometimes.

Damage $1,001-$2,500.

County Jail

Richard Lee Cole Jr., 56, Palestine, Texas: Nonsupport of a dependent, failure to appear, May 25, 5 a.m.

Susan Ewing, 54, Greencastle: Domestic battery, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, May 24, 10 p.m.

Stanley Eugene McKinney, 29, Greencastle: Habitual traffic violator, operating while intoxicated, May 25, 3 a.m.

Ashley Renee Tarry, 26, Martinsville: Probation violation, May 24, 8:40 p.m.

Michael D. Walters, 42, Greencastle: Domestic battery, resisting law enforcement, May 24, 8:40 p.m.

City Police

A Rural Transit bus was involved in an accident Friday on the parking lot of Autumn Glen, 98 N. 10th St., Greencastle City Police report.

The 2010 bus, driven by Anthony Grubbs, 52, Cloverdale, struck an unoccupied parked 2008 Nissan Altima, owned by Dorothy and Clyde Eubank, Greencastle.

Officer Darrel Bunten estimated total damage in the 1:25 p.m. mishap at less than $1,000.

Three recent traffic citations were issued by city officers.

At 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, Lonnie O'Neal, 35, Greencastle, was ticketed by Officer Nick Eastham for passing in a double-yellow zone on State Road 240.

At 3:15 a.m. Monday, Peter Terlap, 22, Naperville, Ill., was ticketed by Officer Eastham for 52 mph in a 30-mph zone on Bloomington Street.

At 1:30 a.m. Sunday, David Holderfield, 38, Cloverdale, was cited by Reserve Officer David Clodfelter on U.S. 231 South for driving with a suspended license.

May 25, 10:38 a.m.: Alarm at The Waters, 1601 Hospital Dr. Nothing found. Cleared 10:51 a.m.
