SWCD, NRCS host resources meeting

Saturday, July 2, 2011

In an effort to utilize financial and technical resources in the best way possible, the Putnam County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Natural Resources Conservation Service are planning a public forum on Wednesday, July 6 at 9:30 a.m. at the USDA Service Center in Greencastle.

The organizations are looking at consolidating their efforts to collect information from Putnam County residents on what resource concerns they have, issues that may need to be addressed, and areas that could be improved or enhanced.

Anyone who cannot attend the meeting but would like to participate will have two opportunities to learn more. They may stop by the office and pick up material to complete prior to the meeting or, new this year, the material will be available on the Putnam County Soil and Water District's web page at http://putnam.iaswcd.org/. Anyone who completes the resource concerns checklist will have their concerns and ideas included for the meeting.

To ensure that there are enough meeting materials, reservations should be made by July 5 by calling 653-5716, ext. 3

Light refreshments will be served and the meeting will conclude by 11:30 a.m.
