The Putnam County Fair Talent Contest will be staged at the Community Building at the fairgrounds on Sunday, July 17.

The event will begin at 7 p.m.

Entry fees are $20 for solo; duets or trios, $10 for each member; and groups of four or more are $4 per person.

The talent contest is open to any amateur who resides in a Putnam County school district. The Adult Division, age 22 and up, is open to all talent. Youth acts qualifying for the State Fair consist of two divisions, Junior and Senior.

The acts will be judged by qualified persons using accepted score sheets. A contestant may compete in solo and group acts, however, a contestant may only compete in one act at the State Fair. Contestants winning "Overall" the previous year may not compete in the same category as they won in last year. The time limit is three minutes per act.

A CD player, cassette and microphone will be provided. Backup vocals on CD or cassettes for the vocal category are not allowed. The decisions of the judges are final.

The divisions are petite, ages 5-8, junior, ages 9-12, senior, ages 13-21 and adult, age 22 and over.

Categories are vocal solo male or female, vocal group, instrumental solo, instrumental group, dance solo, dance group, novelty solo, novelty group, tumbling solo and tumbling group.
