Celebrate 4 festivities a team effort

Friday, July 8, 2011

To the Editor:

On Monday Robe-Ann Park was filled with activities, family moments, good food, entertainment, temperatures in the 80s with unfortunately, two brief downpours, and a most festive, colorful fireworks display.

We worked to prepare and gathered to celebrate our country's birthday and the many men and women who have, and continue to give of themselves to protect our freedoms and families.

On behalf of Friends of the Park and the citizens of the greater Greencastle community I would like to thank the many people, businesses and organizations who help to make this year's Celebrate 4 event such a success.

First, to Rod Weinschenk and his park staff for all of their efforts to make the day of programming happen, seemingly, with little difficulty.

Our financial sponsors were the Banner Graphic, DePauw University, Heartland Automotive, The Inn at DePauw, Teachers Credit Union, Big Bounce Fun House Rentals, Headley Hardware, IAC, Putnam County Convention and Visitor Bureau, Vectren Foundation, WREB, Buzzi Unicem, Cash Concrete, Cinergy Metronet, Crowe Horwath, Duke Foundation, First National Bank, Friends of the Park Association, HBG Insurance, Hannum Wagle & Cline, Hendricks Power, Jackson Hewitt, McDonald's, North Salem State Bank, Dr. Dale Oliver, ServiceMaster of Greencastle, AA Huber and Sons, American Legion Post 58, Animal Medical Clinic, Carpenters Local No. 859, BPO Elks No.1077, Hoosier Topics, Frank and Marie Larouche, Murray and Associates and West Central Veterinary Services. We couldn't have done it without you.

Special thanks to Phyllis and Ryan Rokicki, Jan Firebaugh and the Friends of the Park, Linda Huber, Laurie and Jim Hardwick, Ann Clark, Dr. John Scamahorn, Greencastle Golden Knights and the Putnam County Sheriff's Department, Melanie Welker, Jackie Baumann, Erika Krukowski, David Church, Cecelia Pohlar, Karen Sutherlin, Coach Buis and the Greencastle High School football team, Brian Pohlar, Boy Scout Troop 99, Bob Campbell, Jodie Buis, Teddy Shuck and Putnam Country Comprehensive Services, Adam Cohen and the DePauw University Servicio en las Americas students, our musical entertainers, food vendors, and all who came to celebrate our nation's freedom.
